How to engage Francophones when you don’t speak French! Download as iCal file
Monday 11 June 2012, 10:00 - 12:00

Many organizations and partnerships in Ontario have the interest, desire or mandate to engage Francophone communities in their health promotion initiatives. We understand the benefits to doing so, and understand what can be lost when we don’t fully engage our communities in our work. But for many of us, we hit a common roadblock: how can we fully (and meaningfully) engage the Francophone communities in our regions when we don’t speak French?

In this webinar, we’ll briefly review the importance of Francophone engagement and some key principles and factors to consider. The bulk of the webinar will be on three simple steps to take to engage Francophones when you don’t speak the language, including common pitfalls and how to avoid them. Finally, we’ll hear from a local community who has successfully worked with their Francophone populations, and have time for questions and answers.
