Engaging Citizens for Healthy Communities: Current Challenges and Approaches Download as iCal file

This webinar is the first of a three part Civic Engagement series which will focus on the fundamentals of civic engagement, and how they relates to the concepts and processes of Healthy Communites. This introductory webinar will highlight the role and importance of civic engagement in the provincial and local context, explore barriers to meaningful involvement in today's society, and discuss promising strategies and practices. Helpful resources and tools will also be highlighted.

KimHodgsonKim Hodgson is a consultant with HC Link and a staff consultant with the Ontario Healthy Communities Coalition. Kim bring a strong background in community planning and engagement built on over 20 years of experience working with various municipal, regional and provincial organizations, networks and coalitions. She has experience working in a variety of settings, including Health Units, community health centres, provincial resource centres, as well as Local Health Integration Networks. She is a graduate of the Community Health program at the University of Toronto, and holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Waterloo. Kim lives with her family in a rural hamlet in Waterloo Region.
